Most people don't realize that they can extended the life of their deck by doing a few simple steps every few weeks or even once a month.

How to keep your deck looking good longer after it has been refinished.

It's easy all you need to do is:

1. Keep it clean, this means give it a good cleaning at least 3 times a year. You don't need to pressure wash. Just use a plant safe cleaning solution in a Hudson sprayer, a light scrub and rinse with a garden hose to remove any dirt, mold and mildew

2. Sweep any debris of the deck as soon as you see them (including dirt, leaves, pine needles and branches. Also sweep puddled water of the deck as it can do damage over time.

3. Give a light sand and re- apply a coat of stain on any areas that haven't held up well or that look a little shabby.

Do this and you will keep your deck looking good a lot longer. This will also save you money next time you decide to refinish your deck.
